Danilo Perez’s:

Global Messengers

Children of The Light

Danilo Pérez’s Global Messengers and Children of the Light with John Patitucci & Brian Blade, played at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Pérez, known as a pianist, composer and social activist, combines his Panamanian roots with elements of Latin American folk music, jazz, European impressionism, African and other musical heritages, demonstrating his belief in music as a multi-dimensional bridge between people. He leads two groups that highlight the expansiveness of his artistry: his nimble trio Children of the Light featuring John Patitucci and Brian Blade and his multinational Global Messengers sextet.

Danilo Perez’s Global Jazz Project

العرض الختامي لمشروع الجاز العالم

Similar to Dizzy Gillespie’s United Nations Orchestra, which helped launched Pérez's international career, Danilo's Global Jazz Project is a multicultural combo that features violinist Angela Varo (Spain), alto saxophonist & spoken words Patricia Zárate (Chile), vocalist Nadia Washington (USA), percussionist George Lernis (Cyprus), and bassist Ciara Moser (Austria).

With their intriguing, unconventional instrumentation (to jazz standards), Danilo Perez's Global Jazz Project afford the music with a Pan-Mediterranean, "beyond category" quality that alludes to Panamanian folk, chamber music, cinematic score, and, of course, the sparkling improvisation associated with jazz. Joining them as a special guest will be acclaimed oud performer and composer Charbel Rouhana.

Letter To My Mom: A Homage

Anastassiya Petrova

The brilliantly creative jazz pianist/organist and educator from Kazakhstan, Anastassiya Petrova, has performed in many international jazz festivals, She has worked with musicians such as Allan Chase, Noah Preminger, Marco Pignataro, Dee Dee Bridgewater, John Patitucci, and Teri Lyne Carrington, to name just a few. Just this month she performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC as part of the Mary Lou Williams Jazz Festival and also performed in Terrance Blanchard's "Champion: An Opera in Jazz" at the Cutler Majestic Theatre in Boston.

For this very special event, Anastassiya will perform a program created as a homage to her mother, a violinist, who passed away unexpectedly over the winter. The program will feature some of the jazz compositions that her mother enjoyed listening to, as well as dedication pieces. The intimate evening will have different duo combinations with the featured international musicians listed below:

Anastassiya Petrova (Kazakhstan) - piano
Angela Varo (Spain) - violin
Soso Gelovani (Republic of Georgia)- acoustic double bass
Pritesh Walia (India) - guitar

In Anastassiya's words: "It hasn't been easy and I want to thank everyone who has been with me through this journey. My mom was an extraordinary violinist. We never got a chance to record together, only performed occasionally, but we did have some tracks that we loved and kept listening to throughout the years. Please join me in celebration of my mom's life and music that connects all of us together through time."

The Human Web

Francesca Remigi

The Human Web is an interdisciplinary project designed to investigate how technology and specifically Social Media negatively affect mental health, self-identity, and public life at large, starting from the composer’s personal narrative.
In this concept album, music making is conceived as a healing process and a way to share and recover from personal traumas.
Through creative music-inspired compositions combined with literature and contemporary dance performance, The Human Web unravels how social construct and pop culture’s toxic stereotypes are in control of our life models and choices.
